A wanted notorious kidnapper in Kebbi State, North-West Nigeria, Dogo Oro believed to be terrorising Bunza and Kalgo LGAs has been reportedly killed by men of vigilante group at Tunga village, Tilli ward in Bunza LGA.

Director of Security with the Kebbi State Government, Abdulrahman Usman made this known in a statement issued to journalists in the capital, Birnin Kebbi. Usman quoted the Kebbi State Commander of Vigilantes, Sanusi Ibrahim-Geza as confirming the incident which happened in the morning hours of Friday, December 1 as reported by their Bunza LGA Commander.

In his words, “the suspected notorious bandit appeared this morning shooting people with bore and arrow, but our men of vigilante gunned him down to dead.” He said according to Geza, the successful operation by the vigilante group has added a lot of hope “for our community to resettle down in their various homes and villages and go about their normal businesses, especially at Kanzanna general area.”

The State Commander however appealed to government to assist them with more arms and ammunitions to enable them sustain the fight and ensure self-defence, saying that the fight was getting hotter for the bandits in Bunza and Kalgo general area.
