Voter apathy and delay in commencement of voting impacted Saturday’s local government election in Ondo State.
The election monitored by AIT across the various local council areas was however peaceful as few residents that came out exercised their franchise in an orderly manner under tight security.
The state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who cast his ballot at Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, in Ilaje Local Government Area, and his deputy Olayide Adelami, who voted in Owo commended the peaceful electoral process.

As at the time of filing in this report, sorting and counting of votes has commenced in most polling units.
The Local Government election in ondo state is coming five years after the last one held under the administration of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
