The Federal Government is set to convene the National Economic Council (NEC) conference on February 9 and 10, 2026, to strengthen Nigeria’s economic coordination and accelerate inclusive growth.
The conference will bring together governors of the 36 states and key national stakeholders to discuss pressing macroeconomic priorities.
The conference theme is “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.” It aims to produce policy directions for states to align with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda, focusing on fiscal coordination, investment mobilization, and shared development strategies.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who chairs the National Economic Council, will preside over the two-day summit. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour, with participation from top government officials, development partners, and private-sector leaders.
The conference is expected to deepen reforms under the Renewed Hope agenda, driving economic growth and development across Nigeria.
The deliberations will focus on encouraging economic growth, investment, and development strategies between the federal and state governments
