The three states of Benue, Delta, and Imo are the worse in terms of payment of wage awards and providing palliatives for workers.

President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, Festus Osifo said this at a briefing in Abuja, where he also challenged the Federal Government to immediately pay the March and April 2024 Wage Award owed workers, as well as continue the payment until a new National Minimum Wage is in place.

On the staggered electricity tariff hike, the TUC rejected the implementation and call for immediate reversal or government should be ready for industrial disharmony.

On the Orasanye Report implementation, the TUC calls for the inclusion of Organised Labour in the Committee or the Federal Government should be prepared for economic shutdown, should there be indiscriminate lay-off of workers.

TUC blames partial fuel scarcity across the country on the inability of the Port Harcourt Refinery to start production at April ending as promised by the Federal Government
