Following the appreciable successes recorded in the year 2024 in the fight against insecurity, the Nigerian Army says it is looking forward to a more secure nation in 2025, building upon the professionalism officers and men displayed.
Both the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, TRADOC Nigerian Army Headquarters, Major General Kevin Aligbe, and the 31 artillery brigade, Brigadier General Hamidu Bobbo, said this at the joint West African Social Activities tagged WASA 2024 held at the Minna military cantonment parade ground.
The WASA was an avenue for the Nigerian Army to display its rich culture and tradition, have a get-together, and promote peaceful co-existence among the troops, their families and friends, generally under a non-conflict but social and more relaxed atmosphere away from battle noise.

The special guest of honour and commander of TRADOC, Major General Kevin Aligbe, said the celebration is an opportunity to restate their commitment towards a more secure nation as the fight against terrorism progresses.
For the commander 31 artillery brigade, Brigadier General Hamidu Bobbo, the immediate past 2024 Training Year, was successfully executed in line with Army Headquarters training directives despite the complex security operating environment in Niger State.
On his part, the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Brigadier General Bello Muhammed, said that the state government will continue to partner with the Nigerian Army to secure the state.
Awards were presented to officers who distinguished themselves during the 2024 WASA celebration, cultural displays, thug of war challenge as well as lighting the bonfire climaxed the celebration.
