The Federal Government has been urged to accommodate the country’s private universities into its Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, beneficiaries.
The plea was made by the pro chancellor of the western Delta university, Oghara in Ethiope west Local Government Area of Delta state, Professor Eghosa Emmanuel.
The professor who was speaking during the eleventh to thirteenth combined convocation ceremony of the university, explained that the aim was to enable private universities contribute their quota to building improved and developed education system in Nigeria.
It was the eleventh to the thirteenth combined convocation ceremony of the western Delta university , Oghara in Delta state.
The school’s auditorium was filled to capacity with students and invited guests.
The pro chancellor of the institution, professor Eghosa Emmanuel, during his welcome address solicited the cooperation of the federal government in ensuring that the country’s education sector was well equiped to meet international standards.
The university’s vice chancellor, professor Augustine Ikelegbe, while highlighting some of the successes recorded so far, said the institution will continue to maintain its brilliant academic performance.
In his good will message, the former governor of Delta state, Chief James Ibori, commended the school’s management for a job well done.
The eleventh to thirteenth combined convocation ceremony saw over four hundred students graduating with various academic qualifications which included the bachelors and masters degrees as well as post graduate diplomas.
