The wife of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Beatrice has returned to Nigeria, raising hopes that her husband’s release from a UK prison may come sooner than expected.

A reliable source confirmed that Mrs. Ekweremadu arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday evening, although no further details have been disclosed regarding her return.

It is recalled that Senator Ekweremadu, along with his wife and Dr. Obinna Obeta, a medical practitioner, were in 2023 sentenced by a UK court for their alleged involvement in organ harvesting.

While Senator Ekweremadu received a 10-year sentence, his wife was sentenced to six years in prison.
