In a heart-warming festive outreach on Christmas Day, the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, visited the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital and the Children’s Home, Borikiri in Port Harcourt — spreading joy and goodwill to newborns, nursing mothers, and children over the holiday.

Speaking at the event, Lady Fubara expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and grace in witnessing another Christmas, as she congratulated the parents and the special babies.

Lady Fubara, is particularly happy celebrating the birth of Christ with a visit to babies born on this significant day, and other children who need love, warmth and care during this Yuletide.

The Rivers State first lady began her Christmas Day engagements with a visit to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, where she welcomed and celebrated with babies born in the early hours of December 25, 2025.

Among the newborns she met were: Eric Chinyere Blessing, delivered at 12: 27 am, and Chidugam Kinikachi Owhonda, delivered at 2:00 am.

With warm smiles and gifts in hand, Lady Fubara congratulated the families on the safe deliveries, expressing joy over the birth of these children, who share the season of Christ’s birth and are viewed as blessings for their families and the State.

Her visit echoed a longstanding tradition of engaging with Christmas babies and their families, reflecting the spirit of compassion and community support during the yuletide period.

Following her hospital visit, Lady Valerie Fubara proceeded to the Children’s Home in Borikiri, where she spent quality time with resident children.

At the home, she interacted with the children in festive merriment, offering encouragement and presenting gifts to brighten their Christmas Day.

Just like her previous visits, Lady Fubara emphasized the importance of emotional support and spiritual nurture for young ones, advocating that all children are cherished members of society regardless of circumstances.

As Rivers State comes alive with the spirit of Christmas, Lady Valerie Fubara’s outreach underscores a message of care and celebration for every child – from the very first moments of life to those in need of family and community support.
