Wike after me as Rivers Governorship aspirant cries out

Federal lawmaker and Rivers state governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo has denied claims made by Governor Nyesom Wike, accusing him of sponsoring cultists to disrupt the PDP aspirants screening exercise in Port Harcourt, South-South Nigeria.

Dagogo who is a member of the House of Representatives, in a statement signed by his media aide, Ibrahim Lawal and released shortly after Governor Wike declared him wanted on Wednesday, stated that he did not send anyone to disrupt the screening exercise.

He also denied being anywhere near the party secretariat where the screening process for House of Assembly and National Assembly aspirants took place on Wednesday.

Dagogo wondered why he could have sponsored cultists to disrupt Wednesday’s screening when he is not aspiring for a seat in the State Assembly or National Assembly, but for governorship of Rivers state.

The screening of governorship aspirants is set to hold on Thursday. The lawmaker says the move by Governor Nyesom Wike seeking his arrest by the police on non-existent grounds is a ploy “to stop his governorship screening scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022 and is a violation of his constitutional rights”

He has asked the Inspector-General of Police to ignore the claims made by Governor Wike.

Dagogo however says he is ready to submit himself if he receives an official invitation from the police “after his governorship screening and not before”.

The lawmaker who represents Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has appealed to the National Chairman of the PDP to intervene in the matter
