Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday officially endorsed his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-olu of the All Progressives Congress, APC for a second term.
Governor Wike who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was speaking during the formal opening of the 22nd National Women Conference, NWC. He was accompanied by two former Ekiti state Governors, Ayo Fayose , and Kayode Fayemi.
The endorsement of Governor Sanwo-olu by the Rivers State Governor, is coming amid unresolved issues within the PDP.
Meanwhile the decision of Governor Nyesom Wike to endorse a sitting Governor of the ruling AP’C in Lagos State, against the governorship candidate of his party’s, reaffirms the believe among various interest groups, that the crisis in the PDP is far from being over.

Meanwhile, the PDP Governorship candidate in Lagos State, Adediran Olajide has reacted to the official endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu for a second term in office by the visiting Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Adediran Olajide also known as Jandor through a statement signed by the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode Tuesday explained that he was not surprised at Governor Wike’s comments.
While acknowledging Governor Wike’s development strides in Rivers State, he explained that it is worrisome that Governor Wike will call Sanwon-lu a performer without asking how many times he has invited anyone to Lagos State for the commissioning of projects.
