Wike inaugurates 54 construction equipment for Edo State’s 18 LGAs

Construction equipment for 18 LG councils of Edo State

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has commended Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for what he described as his visionary leadership and commitment to infrastructure development across the state.

The FCT Minister gave the commendation in Benin City during the commissioning and official handover of 54 construction equipment to the 18 local government areas of Edo State to boost grassroots development.

The commissioning ceremony held at the Garrick Memorial Ground along Ekenwan Road in Benin City, where the equipment were displayed ahead of the formal handover.

The equipment which include pay loaders, tippers, and graders , were procured by the local government council chairmen to strengthen service delivery and accelerate development at the grassroots level.

Wike, who was in Benin City for the event, expressed satisfaction with the pace of development under Governor Okpebholo’s administration.

He noted that empowering local governments with construction equipment would accelerate infrastructural growth at the grassroots and further deepen development across communities.

Governor Okpebholo praised the FCT Minister for honouring the state with his presence and acknowledged his impactful developmental strides in the Federal Capital Territory.

The governor stated that his administration would continue to emulate the FCT Minister’s developmental approach in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State.

Each of the 18 local government areas received three sets of equipment, including a pay loader, a tipper, and a grader, making a total of 54 machines distributed across the state.

Following the ceremony, the FCT Minister departed Benin City for Abuja.
