Wike to drag PDP National Chairman to court over “illegal decisions”

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says he will take every legal means to challenge any illegal decision taken by National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu. The PDP National Working Committee, NWC, led by Dr. Ayu had in the last couple of days dissolved the party’s executives in Ekiti State and also suspended some members.

Speaking at the PDP campaign rally in Khana Local Government Area, which is the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni people, Governor Wike says Ayu’s action is vindictive, tyrannical, and would do more harm to the party.

Expectedly, Governor Wike and the Consolidation and Continuation team of the PDP Governorship candidate, Sim Fubara were in Khana LGA to solicit the support and votes of the people.

Fubara says he would also tackle the issue of insecurity arising from oil exploration activities in Ogoniland when he becomes Governor.

While urging Rivers people to sustain the projects and good governance being enjoyed in the State by voting for Sim Fubara as his successor, Governor Wike is calling to question, the integrity and capacity of the APC Governorship candidate, Tonye Cole to lead Rivers State. He says the future of the State will be in jeopardy if the APC is allowed back to power.

Also on the radar is the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, who has taken a number of decisions that have not gone down well with the Rivers State Governor.

Governor Wike says he would continue to fight for justice and equity in the PDP; saying that he would never succumb to any blackmail or intimidation.
