A group of women in Enugu State, South-East Nigeria have staged a peaceful protest against rape on women in the country.
The protest is following increased cases of rape incidents across the country in recent times.
Rape is unlawful sexual activity and usually, intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against the person’s will.
The pains and experience, as well as the emotional trauma can hardly be forgotten by the victim.
It is a crime against humanity.
This is why the women trooped out in their numbers to say enough is enough to what they described as barbaric act.
The women appeared in all black attire and marched through the major streets in the Enugu Metropolis carrying placards, calling on the authorities to protect women and girls from sexual violence.
