Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Strategic Communications, Okey Kalu says the State government has saved over 370 million Naira through the ongoing workers verification exercise.
Briefing the Press in Umuahia at the end of Governor Alex Otti’s meeting with key government officials, Kalu said the Governor has fulfilled his promise of paying workers’ salaries on or before the 28th of every month, starting from June 2023.
Kalu said workers yet to receive their salaries have not complied with the verification exercise ordered by the State government.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on internally generated revenue, Chimereze Okigbo announced the introduction of a new digital tax system that will enable the government register all traders, shops and transporters operating in the state, thereby blocking revenue leakages.
