The medical doctors during a road walk within the hospital premises raise awareness about the importance of early medical checkups and lifestyle modifications in preventing and managing diabetes.
November fourteen every year is set aside to celebrate World Diabetes Day and it provides an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a critical global public health issue and emphasize the collective and individual actions needed to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of the condition.
Though it has come and gone, Medical doctors at the University of Port Harcourt teaching hospital join in the celebrations with a road walk and thereafter offered free medical test for diabetes patients and general public within the university communities.
