As the world commemorates milk day, the need for Nigerians to invest more in local milk production, as Nigeria spends billions of dollars to import the product annually has been emphasised.
President, Tito Group of companies, Isaac Akinkunmi who made the call in Makurdi Benue State capital urged Nigerians to focus more on rearing cattle for milk not just for beef.
June 1st annually is set aside by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as World milk day to recognise the importance of milk in human nutrition.
On this World international milk day, this National productivity Order Of Merit Award Winner, the Tito Group of Companies, Producers of Yoghurt and Furaghurt which is produced by fermented milk here in Makurdi will be a good place to start.
The President, Tito Group, Isaac Akinkunmi wants regulators to clearly differentiate between fermented milk and actual Yoghurt which can be deceptive.
Akinkunmi wants more investments in local production of Milk.
This year’s theme focuses on celebrating the vital role dairy plays in delivering quality nutrition to nourish the world.
