World Peace Day: NUJ wants peaceful Nigeria for Journalists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has called for a peaceful Nigeria deviod of religious, tribal and cultural differences where communal clashes are reduced to the bearest minimum and a country where Journalists can carry out their normal duties.

Chairman of NUJ in Cross River State, Comrade Gill Nsa, made this known while speaking with journalists on the sideline of the Union’s visit to the Brotherhood of the Cross and Stars headquarters in Calabar.

Nsa who said the visit was part of the advocacy of the union to mark the 2022 International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day called on the Government and Media Owners to see insurance of Journalists as a must to guarantee them Peace of mind while doing their assigned duties.

Earlier in his remark, the Spokesman of the Brotherhood of the Cross and stars, Edet Archibong said peaceful and United Nigeria is a sure way to growth and development of the Country.

ait.live Rasheed Olanrewaju reports that 21st September every year is dedicated as world peace day by the United Nations, the absence of war and violence, occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access.
