Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has deposed three traditional rulers and banished them to Niger State, including Ohimege Igu of Kotonkarfe, His Royal Majesty, Abdulrazak Isa, Olumogo of Ogorimago, His Royal Highness, Sam Bola Ojua and Obobanyi of Emenyi, His Royal Highness Samuel Adayi Onimisi
Governor Bello during a media session after the state Executive Council Meeting in Lokoja on Monday also announced the appointment of Ohi of Okenwe, Tijani Ahmed Anaje, as the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland along with Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as Maigari of Lokoja, Dauda Issa as Maiyaki of Kupa and Saidu Akawo Salihu as new Ohimege Igu of Kotonkarfe.
Governor Bello said he was guided by the KOGI state Traditional and Chieftaincy Laws, Rules and Regulations, and all the due processes in removing His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfe, who is also the Chairman, Lokoja/ Kogi Local Government Area Traditional Council and banishing him to Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.

He also announced the removal of his Royal Highness, Sam Bola Ojoa, the Olu Magongo of Magongo and his banishment to Salka in Magama Local Government Area of Niger State while His Royal Highness, Samuel Adayi Onimisi, the Obobanyi of Emani, was also removed and to be deposed to Doko in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The governor said that after due intervention by the Government to resolve the lingering controversies that have characterised the selection process, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje, who is currently the OHI OF OKENWE, has been appointed as the OHINOYI OF EBIRALAND while Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir becomes the MAIGARI OF LOKOJA, Alhaji Dauda Isah, appointed the MAIYAKI OF KUPA and
Mallam Saidu Akawo Salihu appointed as the OHIMEGE-IGU KOTON- and he is to be turbaned immediately.
The title “OBOBANYI OF IHIMA” which reads on the promotion letter of Onimisi, upgrading the stool to first class status, “was done without cognisance to the fact that the title “OBOBANYI OF IHIMA” was a subject of litigation and the court of law is yet to arrive at the possible final decision. The Government has however received several petitions, calling attention to the need to revert and maintain status quo, until the court of law decides.To this end, the stool is. hereby reverted to “OBOBANYI OF EMANI” as the present occupant remains deposed.
The governor also announced the indefinite suspension of His Royal Highness, Boniface Musa, the ONU-IFE in Omala Local Government.
