The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has said the progress made by his administration in the area of security will be sustained to allow rapid economic gains in the state.
Bello said this at the opening ceremony of the annual retreat of the Senate Press Corps held in Lokoja the State capital.
Members of the Senate Press Corps were at the confluence State for their annual retreat aimed at building capacity.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Edward Onoja used the opportunity to highlight some of the achievements of his administration in the last four years.
Bello said his administration has significantly improved on the security of the State; adding that ember of disunity being fanned before 2016 have disappeared.

He said his administration has performed better than any other state government to create space for youths and women inclusion and empowerment.
Representing the Senate President, Senate spokesman, Bashiru Ajibola called for synergy between government and the media for effective delivery of the dividence of democracy.
The two-day retreat was tagged: Democracy and Development in a Federation: Roles of Media, States and Parliament.
