Members of some sub-national nationalists’ groups from the South-West states of Nigeria say their move for self-determination of the Yoruba nation is not to disobey the government or disobey the laws of Nigeria neither is it to insult other ethnic groups but to achieve purposes by being together under a common culture and one language.
The Yoruba Nation campaigners who held a rally in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital said the peaceful move is to show that Yoruba people are civilised and sophisticated, and that they can get out of Nigeria without violence.

They explained that they are insisting on self-determination because it is the only solution that is meaningful for now in the structure of Nigeria.
