Youths should make a bold statement in 2023 elections – Jonathan

Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan is advising Nigerian youths to use the opportunity of the 2023 general elections to make a bold statement by electing persons who believe by heart in the unity and progress of the country.

Jonathan was speaking at a public lecture organised in honour of elder statesman, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who celebrated his 80th birthday anniversary in Owerri, the Imo State capital, South-East Nigeria.

Describing the celebrator as an outstanding reformer, resilient politician, philanthropist, and a detribalised Nigerian, fomer President Jonathan notes that Iwuanyanwu has made outstanding marks in life.

The former Nigerian leader charged the youths not to compromise the future and unity of the country for any reason in the coming general elections.

Guest speaker and immediate past President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Nnia Nwodo described Iwuanyanwu’s remarkable contributions to the country’s economic and socio-cultural developments.

Imo State Governor ,Hope Uzodinma who eulogised the celebrator for his outstanding achievements and attributes the lack of unity among the Igbo people of South-East Nigeria as a barrier to realising the political aspiration of a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction.

The event attracted Nigerians from all walks of life from across the country and beyond.
