YSFON begins preparation for Chief Of Naval Staff and NOWA cup tournaments

The Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria YSFON, has begun preparations for the 19th edition of the Chief of the Naval Staff U-14 boys and 11th NOWA U-17 girls football tournaments Speaking to sports journalists on Wednesday during a press briefing in Lagos, the Secretary General of the youth sports organising body,

Olorogun Patrick Okpavhuere says the CNS and NOWA Boys and Girls competitions have been scheduled for September 24th to end October 4th 2022 in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital YSFON says the football tournament is in its usual way contributing to the development of the game as well as engaging Nigerian Youths positively so they’ll stay out of crime and other vices .

The sports body says all states representatives should begin preparations ahead of the scheduled date to avoid hitches. Reacting to some questions on the issues of eligibility of players and age cheats,

The technical director Alhaji Abdulgafar Agboola says only Boys below 14 years of age and Girls under 17 years will be eligible to participate in the 10- day competition .He added that any state that features over-age players will be disqualified On his part the organising Secretary Abdurazaq Usman assured Nigerian Youths of adequate security and safety during the tournament since the Nigerian Navy will be readily available to protect the players throughout the duration of the competition.

Usman however advised all the participating teams to avoid night travels to ensure their safety and avoid unpleasant experience The CNS Cup is sponsored by the Nigerian Navy while the girls tournament is supported by the Naval officers wives Association NOWA.
