Zambia’s Foreign Minister, Stanley Kakubo has tendered his resignation following the emergence of a video in which it is believed he is the man receiving cash from a Chinese businessman.
Kakubo, who is also a Member of Parliament has said he will stay in on that position even as President Hakainde Hichilema has accepted his resignation.
But, Kakubo has denied the allegations and called the claims malicious.
The video shows two men sitting by a table counting the neatly stacked cash, both US dollars and Zambian national currency.
He is quoted in a resignation letter by one of the East African newspapers to have said, “In due course, we will provide the accurate context surrounding the recent developments”.
