Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed has presented about N188.8billion as the appropriation bill for the 2023 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.
The governor told the state’s lawmakers that the 2023 appropriate bill is designed to enable his administration adequately mobilise resources to tackle the prevailing insecurity, bedevilling the state.
The governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mohammed explained that the proposed 2023 appropriation bill is anchored on multiple grant resources, to make it fiscally realizable, coherent, and consistent with medium and long-term strategic plans.

He pointed out that the formulation of the appropriation bill has come with a lot of challenges, of the high demand of more than N300 billion from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, which are the instruments for the implementation of government policies and programmes.
The breakdown of the appropriation bill showed that capital expenditure is about N103 billion, while recurrent expenditure got over N86 billion.
Governor Mohammed said his administration is committed to the fight against the security challenges facing the state, which is why it has, earmarked N20 billion for the security sector, and N10.8 billion for the humanitarian services in the state.
The Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Muazu, assured that the lawmakers will ensure accelerated passage of the appropriation bill into law.
In attendance at the presentation of the Zamfara State 2023 appropriation bill were the Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Nasiha, Former Governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Kabiru Marafa, Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Gusau, Ibrahim Suleiman, the APC state’s Chairman, Tukur Danfulani among other top Government officials.
