In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris stated that the party received with shock the sudden death of the erudite Professor and party Chieftain.

The APC noted that the death of a promising Islamic scholar such as Shinkafi was a monumental loss to Zamfara state, the APC Family, and Nigeria at large.
Shinkafi, died in Abuja on Saturday and will be buried this Sunday.
