The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, and his supporters into the party.
In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris-Gusau, the governor’s decision to join the ruling party was described as a welcome development and a significant boost that will further strengthen the unity of the people of Zamfara as a formidable and indivisible entity.
The statement says on behalf of the State APC leader, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, as well as other party leaders including Senator Ahmad Rufai Sani, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, and Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, the party executives under the chairmanship of Tukur Umar Danfulani, along with other critical stakeholders, heartily welcome Governor Dauda Lawal and assured him of the full support and cooperation of all APC members.
The party said it already recognises Governor Dauda Lawal and all his supporters as full-fledged members who will now enjoy all the privileges accorded party members.
It added that the development is expected to strengthen unity among members of the party and boost its chances in the 2027 general elections.
The party also called on members at all levels to support the move in order to ensure the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The APC expressed confidence that Zamfara State will continue to benefit from decisions that promote unity of purpose and greater economic viability for the state.
