Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Hassan Nasiha says, the notorious bandit’s kingpin Bello Turji has embraced the peace initiative and stopped attacking innocent citizens in Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of the State.

He said this during a conference on security in Gusau, the State capital organized by Students Union Of Medina University, where he said the singular action of Bello Turji is bringing about relative peace in the three local Councils which were hitherto the frontline of banditry in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

According to the Zamfara State deputy governor, Senator Hassan Nasiha, for the past five weeks there has not been a clash between the fulanis and Hausas in Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of the State as a result of the dialogue to broker peace between the two warring factions in the State.

He disclosed that that the Notorious bandit’s kingpin, Bello Turji who keyed into the amnesty of governor Bello Mohammed is now launching offensive against the suspected terrorists in the areas to ensure that peace and stability return to the State.

The Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Nasiha also disclosed that the committee constituted by Governor Bello Mohammed chaired by him had held a peace meeting with 9 bandits’ camps at Magami District and Dansadau Emirate of Gusau and Maru local Government Areas of the State to stop attacking innocent citizens.

Senator Nasiha said governor Bello Mohammed has ordered that all grazing routes, lands, water for livestocks and other property of the fulanis seized as a result of the conflict between them and the Hausas, should be returned immediately to the fulanis for peace to reign in the State.

Senator Hassan Nasiha said the Fulanis want government to provide fertilizers, free Fulanis in correctional centres, and build school for their children. This he added will discourage them from engaging in banditry because lack of education is one of the major factors influencing
even a 12 year old Fulani boy to carry AK-47 rifle to kill innocent people.
