One driver is reported to have been killed, while three other drivers and an unspecified number of passengers have been abducted by suspected bandits on the Shinkafi Road in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sources said, the driver that was killed, resisted the bandits who opened fire on him.
The sources said Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas have come under frequent attack by suspected bandits, despite the military operation in Zamfara State.
They want the government and the security agencies to shift more attention to the area, to crush the bandits and protect the communities.

The abduction of the 3 drivers and the unspecified number of passengers is coming less than a week when five final year students were abducted by suspected bandits on their way back home from writing the West African Senior Secondary School Examination, in Shinkafi.
The vehicle which the abducted students were in was said to have been burnt by the criminals.
