Zamfara Banditry: Police arrest 10 terrorists’ informants, suppliers of firearms

The Police in Zamfara State have apprehended ten Suspected Terrorists’ Informants and collaborators, whom it says supplied firearms, ammunitions and Military camouflage uniforms to the Terrorists.

The command’s Public Relations, Officer Superintendent Mohammed Shehu who paraded the suspects on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf said, the Suspected Terrorists’ Informants and collaborators were arrested at various locations in the State.

It was another success recorded in combating Banditry in Zamfara State by Police Operatives as they arrested ten Suspected Terrorists’ Informants and collaborators who have been terrorizing innocent citizens.

The Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu said the Suspected terrorists’ informants have been collaborating with the Terrorists to unleash terror on innocent citizens in Gusau, Kaura Namoda, TSafe and Bungudu Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, Northwest, Nigeria.

He explained that one of the suspects Abubakar Mainarasa also known as major had confessed to the police to collecting the sum of Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira to supply military camouflage uniforms to the Terrorists which he collaborated with a tailor, Jamilu Lawal to sew the uniforms.

The Police command’s spokesperson disclosed that police operatives acted on Intelligence information which led to the arrest of the ten suspects including one Alhassan Lawali male 27 years old in the TSafe Local Government Area of the State.

The suspect, Lawali confessed that he had supplied fourteen operational motorcycles to the Terrorists in the forest at the rate of seven Hundred and fifty Thousand Naira each and he earned fifteen Thousand Naira per motorcycle.

The items recovered from the Suspects included; one AK 49rifle, one lar rifle, 174 live ammunition, a locally fabricated revolver gun, 4 cartridges, a fake military identity card and one set of camouflage uniforms.
