The Police in Zamfara State has arrested eight bandits’ informants, gun runners, cattle rustlers and suppliers of hard drugs and foodstuff.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu who paraded the suspects on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf said, Police operatives also repelled terrorists’ attacks in Bukkuyum, Shinkafi and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The Police Public Relations Officer also said its operatives recovered four sophisticated guns, one cutlass and a bunch of charms, after exchanging gunfire with the terrorists who were forced to retreat into the bush.

He said the Police acted on distress calls by some community members, which resulted in repelling the terrorists’ planned attacks on some communities in Bukkuyum, Shinkafi and TSafe Local Government Areas of the state.

The Police arrested a gun runner identified as Abdullahi Sani, Male, 28 years old, who hails from Gidan Garba Village, in Maru Local Government Area of the state, with two hundred and fifty rounds of AK-47 live ammunition, to which he confessed that he was sent by a terrorist leader, called Ladan, with one million, one hundred and ninety thousand Naira to deliver to arms supplier, and collect a consignment for him.

They also apprehended one Salisu Adamu Dangulbi,
a supplier of hard drugs and foodstuff to the terrorists.

He was about to transfer drugs and foodstuff from Kano to Dangulbi Village, in the Maru Local Government Area of the state, to supply to the terrorists.

The hard drugs included Penta injection, tramadol tabs, Chloroquine injection, Exzol tabs and cartons of beer.

The Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu, disclosed that the police operatives also nabbed Hauwa’u Usman, female, 43 years old, who lives in the Barakallahu Area of the Gusau Metropolis, and Aliyu Mamuda, male, 43 years old, who lives in Tudun Wada, Gusau Local Government Area of the state.

They were arrested over alleged collaboration with the terrorists, but Hauwa’u Usman denied fraternizing with the terrorists while alleging that Aliyu Mamuda is the one that supplied drugs, foodstuff, operational motorcycles and hired labourers for the terrorists’ farms.
