Zamfara Banditry: Troops Engage Terrorists In Gun Battle, 4 Vigilantes Killed

At least four civilians have been killed, while three soldiers sustained injuries during a gun battle between the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, and suspected terrorists at Gidan Danjimma, and Kirifida Communities in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to sources within the troubled areas, suspected terrorists attempted to attack the affected two communities when troops with vigilante operatives moved in to repel the attack.

They were engaged in exchange of fire where the terrorists and four vigilantes were killed.

Three soldiers and some vigilantes were also said to have been wounded.

The locals, also confirmed that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have killed fifteen terrorists, including a top commander identified as Jarfa.

Jarfa was identified as one of the top commanders of terrorist kingpin Dankarami, who met his Waterloo during a fierce gun battle with the military, who repelled their attempted attack on the two communities.

Sources could not confirm if the terrorists’ kingpin Dankarami is dead but disclosed that there have been military air bombardment in the troubled areas, where the troops left several terrorists wounded.

Birnin Magaji and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State are some of the frontlines of banditry activities, where suspected terrorists constantly attack and displace residents.
