The Zamfara State Commissioner for Information hinted that there are already ongoing talks between the state government and the abductors of the students and staff of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science in Bakura Local Government Area of the state.

It is meant to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt and in no distant time.

He emphasized that the peace deal initiated by Governor Bello Mohammed’s administration is still on the ground, and therefore, the state government is exploring the strategy, to secure the release of the victims, as it had done in the past.

Dosara attributed the heightened activities of bandits in the Northwest to the intensive heat with which the military has taken the fight to the bandits’ enclave.

The Information Commissioner appealed to the residents of the state to remain calm, law-abiding, and disregard any fake news or rumour on insecurity, as the government and the security agencies are doing their best to safeguard and secure the lives and property of the people.
