The Police in Zamfara State has vowed to arrest suspected hoodlums who allegedly invaded Kadamutsawa Village, under Kotorkoshi town, and engaged in sporadic gun shooting, which led to the killing of six persons while four others were severely wounded.
A statement by the Police command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent, ASP Yazid Abubakar, explained that on 28th June 2023, at about 3:46 PM, information was received by the Police from the District Head of Kotorkoshi, Bello Umar, who revealed that a large number of unidentified armed men suspected to be Yansakai local armed volunteer group, had invaded Kadamutsawa Village under Kotorkoshi town, and started shooting indiscriminately, leading to the death of six persons, with four others sustaining injuries.
The Police said the injured were taken to Kotorkoshi Primary Health Care for medical attention as one of those injured died later in the health facility while receiving treatment.

The statement said on receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Kotorkoshi Division, led his Strike Force, in collaboration with some military personnel to the scene, and on sighting the operatives, the hoodlums took to their heels and escaped.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Bunu, has assured the people of the State that the spate of senseless killings in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria must come to an end, noting that the Federal Government is determined, and working assiduously to restore peace in every part of the country.
The Zamfara State Police Command has, therefore, issued a note of warning to residents to give peace a chance, saying anyone that attempts to take the laws into his or her hands will face the full wrath of the law.
