Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed has sympathized with victims of the recent flood disaster in Zurmi Local Government Area of the state, where some families were rendered homeless.
The Governor in a press statement by his Director General Press Affairs, Yusuf Idris says, he was shocked and devastated when he received the sad news that flooding has caused a lot of damage to some farms and houses in Zurmi Local Government Area, as a result of heavy rainfall that lasted for many hours.
He prays Almighty Allah to avert the recurrence of such disaster and calls on the affected communities, to consider the disaster as an act of God and accept it in good faith.

The statement says, the governor has already directed the Directorate of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs, to immediately visit the area and assess the level of damage, in order to give immediate assistance to the affected communities.
The governor assured that relief materials will soon be provided to all the affected communities, as soon as the government receives the report of the damage caused by the disaster.
Governor Mohammed also calls on the people to ensure total clearance of all waterways, drainages and culverts, in order to have free flow of all rain water, especially in this month of August.
