Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has lamented the deplorable road conditions in Gusau, the state capital, which has led to accidents and damage to vehicles.
The governor said this while flagging off the first phase of reconstruction and expansion of three-point-five kilometres of township roads in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital.

The four township roads which the Zamfara State
Governor, Dauda Lawal, flagged off are, the first phase of the reconstruction and expansion of the Bello Balarau roundabout, the old market road, the Bello Balarau to Central Police Station Road, the Bello Balarau to Government House Road, and the Corner Yankeke to Emirate Palace to Tankin Ruwan Road.
According to Governor Lawal, the contract was awarded at N4.1 billion to Ronchess Construction Company.
Governor Lawal described the construction and reconstruction of the township roads as an investment for the future, with a wide range of impacts on the various aspects of the people’s daily lives, and provide safer and more efficient transportation, as well as socio-economic activities for the residents.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lawal Bungudu, urged the contractor to strictly adhere to the bill and standards, and ensure he uses local materials and manpower.
Governor Dauda Lawal appealed for the patience and support of the people, to enable the government to improve transportation and foster economic growth in Zamfara State.
