The abduction of the female students of Federal University in Gusau from their off-campus hostels at Sabon Gida Community, including some construction workers, is posing serious concerns to the parents.
The governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, who was away when the incident occurred, immediately visited the Federal University, Gusau when he returned, to assess the situation and receive briefs from the school management.
Governor Lawal took time to address the students, urging them not to allow the unpleasant situation to demoralise them from pursuing their studies.
The students were not only concerned about the insecurity but also about the hike in school fees, and are appealing to the Federal Government to reduce the fees to enable them to cope with the current hardship.
