The Zamfara State Governor-elect, Dauda Lawal, has reiterated that he is on a rescuing and rebuilding mission in the state.
The Governor-elect said this while inaugurating the 60-member Transition Committee in Gusau, the state capital, which is chaired by the former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar.
The Governor-elect of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, said the 60-member transition committee is expected to set the ball rolling, to ensure a smooth transition of government, from the outgoing to the new administration in the state.

He disclosed that the 60-member committee was carefully selected, based on their track records and pedigrees.
The Governor-elect noted that the people of Zamfara State voted for them, with high expectations, to bring about the desired change in the areas of security, poverty alleviation, prosperity, comfort, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
He charged the committee with the responsibility of developing a clear framework of liaison, and establishing a channel of formal communication with the outgoing administration, taking and handing over to the incoming administration, for a successful transition.
The chairman of the 60-member Transition Committee, former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar, assured that the committee will do its work without fear or favour, and shall furnish the incoming administration with workable recommendations, to impact the lives of the people, and the socio-economic development of the state.
The inauguration of the Transition Committee at the Nadama Conference Hall, JB Yakubu Secretariat, had in attendance, the Deputy Governor-elect, Acting State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Moukhtar Lugga, and party chieftains among others.
