Governor Dauda Lawal has presented a 2024 appropriation bill

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has presented a 2024 appropriation bill of four hundred and twenty-three billion, five hundred and twenty-two million, seven hundred and thirty thousand (423,522,730,000=) to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The 2024 appropriation bill is tagged, Rescue Budget, which Governor Lawal described as a reflection of the people’s opinions right from the grassroots.

Governor Lawal during the presentation said his administration met several challenges which including banditry, a battered economy, and a dysfunctional system, noting that despite the challenges, the administration within the past six months has recorded huge achievements in the areas of fighting insecurity and providing infrastructure.

Capital expenditure got N305.4billion while N118.1 billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, with a focus on six key priority areas – Security, Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure and the Economy. 
Governor Lawal also said that the 2024 appropriation bill captured the planned construction of roads in Bukkuyum, Gusau ,Maradun, Maru, and Tsafe local government areas and the execution of the Gusau International Cargo Airport Project.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Bilyaminu Isma’il used the opportunity to sympathize with victims of banditry across the state, and promised the accelerated passage of the appropriation bill, to ensure the administration provides good and timely governance to the people.
