The Zamfara State Government has approved continued dialogue with bandits, as a strategy, to restore peace and security to the state.
The State Executive Council gave the approval during its meeting in Gusau, the state capital, The Zamfara State Executive Council meeting was chaired by Governor Bello Mohammed.
Also in attendance, was the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Maru, Commissioners, Special Advisers, and the Head of Service after the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government, addressed journalists on resolutions reached. including the approval of a carrot and stick approach in the fight against banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling.

Recently, traditional rulers, heads of security agencies and other relevant stakeholders, had also expressed willingness to continue with ongoing peace initiatives.
