The Zamfara State Government has refuted a media report by an online platform called, “UK-based governance report,” which ranked Zamfara among the worst-managed states in Nigeria.
It categorically dismissed the said report and described it as baseless, misleading and politically motivated propaganda. It is nothing more than a paid hatchet job, deliberately crafted to smear the image of Zamfara State, and undermine the transformational leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Dantawasa, said it is regrettable that some platforms have reduced themselves to propaganda contractors – ready to publish fabricated data, distorted narratives, and false statistics for whoever can pay the highest price.
It says, contrary to the lies contained in the so-called report, the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal, is already laying the foundation for a New Zamfara, anchored on transparency, security reform, infrastructure renewal, education revival, and healthcare improvement.
Security operations are being overhauled, with unprecedented collaboration between federal and state agencies.

Also, education reforms have been launched to return out-of-school children to classrooms, and upgrade learning facilities.
Healthcare delivery is being strengthened, with new investments in hospitals and rural health centres.
Workers’ welfare, accountability and fiscal discipline have remained at the centre of this administration’s governance approach.
The statement noted that these achievements are visible and verifiable, as no amount of propaganda can erase the fact that Zamfara is steadily regaining its dignity and direction under this government.
He says, unequivocally, that Governor Dauda Lawal will not submit to the antics of paid propaganda merchants, nor will Zamfara State be distracted by politically sponsored falsehoods, masquerading as research, as the administration’s focus remains on serving the people with honesty, courage and results.
It, therefore, calls on the citizens to treat the malicious publication with the disdain it deserves, and to continue to place their faith in the ongoing reforms that are bringing hope and progress to Zamfara State.
