The Zamfara State Government says it generated the sum of one hundred and fifty-eight billion naira in the first six months of 2024 and spent only thirty-four billion.
State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Abdul Malik Gajam made the figures available to newsmen while debunking a story in some mainstream media, alleging that Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration budgeted N19.3 billion to purchase kitchen and canteen equipment for the 2024 fiscal year.

He said on the contrary, the present administration in the state is disciplined and prudent in the management of public resources and has reduced the cost of governance, by trimming the number of ministries.
Gajam said the media outfits should have verified, assessed and scrutinised their facts thoroughly before going public with what he called false information.
