After Wednesday’s attack on government officials during the formal handover of the 279 girls to their parents, the Zamfara State government has imposed dusk – to – dawn curfew in Jangebe town
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Suleiman Anka, the government said that it took the decision based on strong evidence of market activities in the town that aid and abet bandits in Jangebe and neighboring communities.

Consequently, all market activities in the town are hereby suspended until further notice.
It also said the state government is poised to ensure safety of lives and property of its citizens at all cost.
The state government has directed the Zamfara State Police Command to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.
