Zamfara IDPs receive more relief materials from Saudi Monarch, King Salman

No fewer than 1,666 households in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State have received relief materials donated by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

The distribution of the relief materials in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas brings the total number of beneficiaries to over 6, 000 households in the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.

The state is now left with 1,945 Internally Displaced Person, IDPs households in two Local Government Areas, Bulkkuyum, and Gumi who are yet to receive their share, on Friday.

The Head of Operation, NEMA, Sokoko Zonal Office, Aliyu Abdullahi said the team was in Zurmi and Shinkafi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State to distribute the food items to victims of banditry and other natural disasters on behalf of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

The Director, Humanitarian, Kabiru Rabiu, who represented the Zamfara State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, expressed satisfaction with the orderly distribution of the assorted food items to the households of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in the State.

Some beneficiaries, Bilkisu Ahmed and Kafiyu Shuiabu, thanked King Salman of Saudi Arabia, NEMA, and the Zamfara State government for the gesture.

Eight thousand, seven hundred and twenty-five IDPs households in Zamfara State are expected to receive the donation, with each household receiving a package weighing 59.8 kg of rice, beans, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, cooking oil, salt, and Massa flour.
