Zamfara is set to join the league of states with international airports with ongoing construction set to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
Governor Dauda Lawal gave the assurance while inspecting the project, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the site.
The Zamfara State International Airport is one of the frontline capital projects under Governor Dauda Lawal’s development agenda and is prominently featured in the state’s 2026 budget.
Governor Lawal, accompanied by members of the State Executive Council, tours the construction site to assess the level of work and progress made so far.
The governor expressed optimism that the airport, when completed, will stand as a lasting legacy for the people of Zamfara, with expectations that it will be delivered in the first quarter of 2026.
Governor Lawal noted that the airport is not just a major infrastructure project, but a cornerstone of Zamfara State’s economic transformation.
He explained that upon completion, the facility will create new opportunities for investors by providing easier access to the state’s vast solid mineral deposits and agricultural produce.
