The Zamfara State Government has donated a newly constructed office secretariat to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)
The building which was handed over by the ministry of housing is to facilitate a conducive working environment for journalists
For many years, journalists in Zamfara State struggled to secure a befitting secretariat, as similar efforts under previous administrations failed to materialise.
However, two years into his administration, Governor Dauda Lawal approved and awarded the contract for the project, bringing long-awaited relief to media practitioners across the state.
The NUJ Chairman described Governor Dauda Lawal as a journalist-friendly leader who understands the importance of press freedom and a supportive working environment for media professionals.
With the successful handover of the secretariat, the expectations is that , the facility will soon be officially commissioned and formally presented to journalists by the governor.
