The Caretaker Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Northwest, Tukur Abdulkadir says, the Party’s new membership registration and revalidation exercise in Zamfara State are unconstitutional and illegal.

He said at no time did the members of the National Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC, decide to the effect that new registration and membership revalidation should be carried out in Zamfara State.

The Northwest Zonal Caretaker Secretary of the party, Tukur Abdulkadir said this shortly after a meeting with former Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s faction of the APC in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

He accused the National Caretaker Secretary of the Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, John Akpanudoedehe, of single-handedly taking that decision, for reasons best known to him.

The state’s Caretaker Chairman of the APC, Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa’s faction, Lawali Liman said, the party had registered over 770, 000 members in Zamfara State.

Liman urged members and supporters of the APC, loyal to former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and Kabiru Marafa, to ignore the statement credited to former Governor Sani Ahmad Yarima, that new registration and membership revalidation must be conducted, for all those desiring to be members of the party.

He, therefore, described it as unfounded, untrue, misleading and an attempt to destabilize and disorganize the unity of the party, as no membership can be terminated, except by death or by joining another political party.
