Excitement is building within the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, as party members prepare to receive Governor Dauda Lawal, who is expected to officially join the party on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
The party’s spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, made this known shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting held with key party figures across the state.
Inside the hall, party leaders ranging from state executives to ward representatives gathered with a shared sense of anticipation. For many, this is more than a routine meeting; it signals a major political shift in Zamfara’s landscape.
According to party officials, the meeting was convened to brief members on the event to formally receive governor’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the All Progressives Congress APC
Preparations, they say, are in top gear, with top national figures including Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima expected to attend the formal reception.
For many party faithful, the move represents not just a political realignment, but renewed hope for unity and development in the state.
