The National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, Zamfara State Branch, has directed its members to comply with the directive of the National body, to commence an indefinite strike, to press home their demands.
The state’s Secretary of the Association, Dr Ibrahim Dauran, told ait.live that the strike became necessary, due to Federal Government’s failure to honour agreements and meet their demands.

He enumerated the pending issues that triggered the indefinite strike: non-payment of hazard allowance, residency stipends, and improving manpower, amongst others.
Dr Dauran explained that the resident doctors have empathy for the patients and what they will go through during the period of their withdrawal of services, but have no option, but to take the painful decision to withdraw, because of government’s insincerity, in keeping with the agreements reached with them.
