Zamfara State has returned the Internally Displaced Persons to their various communities after the recent attacks by bandits, killed twenty one persons in the state.
To ensure their protection from future attacks by these bandits, a combined team of security operatives have been deployed to the affected villages.
Speaking to the operatives drawn from the military, police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, the Chairman of the Peace Initiative, also a Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo, charged them to be professional and disciplined in the fight against banditry.

Also speaking, The Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs in Zamfara State, Abubakar Dauran said that, government will ensure that the affected villagers are assisted with food and cash, to alleviate their plights.
It was observed that lack of motorable roads, made quick response to distress calls by security operatives very difficult in the fight against banditry in Talata Marafa and Maru Local Government Areas.
