Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed has awarded N15 million to the 11 winners from the State at the just concluded National Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Kano.
A statement said the money was given to the winners based on their categories and performance with the overall national winner, who hails from the State Muhammad Auwal Gusau going home with N5 million.
The other 10 participants received N1million each.
The statement disclosed that the Governor also appointed the overall winner as Senior Special Assistant and the 10 others as Special Assistants.

The statement said the Governor was visibly happy over the feat by the participants and hosted them to the breaking of Ramadan fast at his residence.
He said the winners have once again made the State proud after 11 years it last won the competition.
Governor Bello Mohammed used the forum to call on Islamic scholars and others to continue to join hands with the government and the people of the State to pray for lasting solutions to acts of criminalities in the state and the country.
